For the new church building
With the establishment of the Lee Mount Branch of North Parade Baptist Church as an independent church in 1892, it was not long before the church began to think about a new church building and a Building Fund was set up in 1897 during the ministry of J.H. Robinson but the prime mover in pushing this forward was F.W. Duncombe who organised the publication of an appeal.
The Building Fund accounts show that £1,175 in loans was still outstanding two years after the church opened.
By 1915 the church could hold Thanksgiving services for the clearing of the debt and the accounts were finally closed on .
